Rob Madge (Oliver!, Les Misérables) returns to the West End stage with their autobiographical show My Son's a Queer, (But What Can You Do?). The solo show begins its run at the Ambassadors Theatre January 25 with performances set through March 18.

At age 12, Madge attempted to create a full scale Disney parade in their house for their grandmother. So begins My Son's a Queer, which tells the story of raising a queer child with all of its joys and chaos. The work originally premiered at Off-West End's The Turbine Theatre in 2021 where it sold out, subsequently transferring in 2022 to Edinburgh Fringe for another sold-out run before its West End premiere at the Garrick Theatre last year.

Director Luke Sheppard (& Juliet, In the Heights) returns to the show along with composer Pippa Cleary (The Great British Bake Off Musical, The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Age 13 ¾). Also reprising their places on the creative team are set and costume designer Ryan Dawson Laight, video designer by George Reeve, and orchestrator Simon Nathan. Joining the team will be lighting designer Jai Morjaria and sound designer Tingying Dong.
