Home, I’m Darling, presented by Bill Kenwright, will tour the U.K. following an opening at the Theatre Royal Windsor January 25, 2023. Leading the cast for the Olivier-winning comedy by Laura Wade (The Watsons, Tipping the Velvet) will be BAFTA winner Jessica Ransom, Diane Keen, and Neil McDermott.
Ransom (Posh, Straight) will star as Judy with Keen (Beautiful – The Carole King Musical, Same Time Next Year) as Sylvia and McDermott (Shrek the Musical, Henry IV) as Johnny. The play follows one woman as she dedicates herself to becoming the perfect 1950s housewife while things in her marriage begin to come undone behind the veneer of a happy marriage. Further casting will be announced at a later date.
Stops have been announced through May 13, 2023, with further dates yet to be announced. The show will play Theatre Royal Windsor, Derby Theatre, Glasgow's King's Theatre, Bath Theatre Royal, Malvern's Festival Theatre, Eastbourne's Devonshire Park, Mold's Theatr Clwyd, Woking's New Victoria Theatre, Cheltenham's Everyman Theatre, Richmond Theatre, Brighton Theatre Royal, Birmingham's The Alexandra, and Canterbury Marlowe Theatre.
Home, I’m Darling originally received its world premiere at Theatr Clwyd in 2018. It then played the National Theatre, followed by a transfer to the West End's Duke of York’s Theatre where it won the 2019 Olivier Award for Best New Comedy.
Reuniting from the original creative team, Theatr Clwyd Artistic Director Tamara Harvey helms the production with co-direction by Hannah Noone. The production will feature design by Olivier winner Anna Fleischle (Death of a Salesman, Hangmen), lighting by Lucy Carter (2:22 A Ghost Story, Everybody's Talking About Jamie), sound design by Tom Gibbons (Best of Enemies, West Side Story), and choreography by Charlotte Broom (Love's Sacrifice, A Very Very Very Dark Matter).
