A filmed performance of James Graham's critically acclaimed play Punch will stream at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre on Broadway. The stream will take place October 28-November 2, during the production's final week of live performances. Streaming ticket holders will have 24 hours to watch the performance, with each slot's streaming window beginning in sync with the Broadway production's curtain times.

MTC has partnered with The League of Live Stream Theater on the project, a follow-up to their presentation of Jaja's African Hair Braiding last year. Though unlike other livestream, where the stream is showing what's happening live onstage, the Punch stream will actually be a pre-taped performance—which will show at the same time as that evening's live performance.

“I'm delighted that more people will have the opportunity to see our brilliant Broadway company in Punch, which is a true story with something timely to say,” says director Adam Penford in a statement. “On behalf of all those real people whose story we're telling, I'd like to thank the League of Live Stream Theater and Manhattan Theatre Club for giving us the opportunity to connect to a wider audience who may not have been able to attend the production in person.”

“Assuring wide access to the work on our stages is a top priority at Manhattan Theatre Club,” adds MTC Executive Director Chris Jennings. “We have been pleased to provide free or discounted tickets to our production of Punch to students, teachers, and community partner organizations, and are thrilled that this collaboration will make the show available to people around the country who would not otherwise experience this brilliant piece of powerful theatre."

Tickets are available at LOLST.org.

The work, which arrives stateside after a world premiere run at the U.K.'s Nottingham Playhouse, is adapted from Jacob Dunne's book Right From Wrong, centered on Dunne's real-life story of a tragic mistake that turned fatal. The play follows Jacob as he contends with the consequences of his actions, finding an unusual source of hope in the parents of the boy he killed. The play is making a simultaneous transfer to London's West End, playing the Apollo Theatre through November 29.

The Broadway cast features Camila Canó-Flaviá as Clare and Nicola; Will Harrison as Jacob; Sam Robards as David and Raf’s Dad; Lucy Taylor as Mum and Wendy; two-time Tony winner Victoria Clark as the victim’s mother, Joan and Nan; Cody Kostro as Raf and Sam; and Piter Marek as Tony, Derek, and DS Villers. The ensemble includes Kim Fischer, Jacob Orr, and Amber Reauchean Williams, with understudies Judith Lightfoot Clarke and Ben Livingston rounding out the company.

The production features scenic and costume design by Anna Fleischle, lighting design by Robbie Butler, original music and sound design by Alexandra Faye Braithwaite, movement direction by Leanne Pinder, dialect coaching by Ben Furey and Charlotte Fleck, and casting by Caparelliotis Casting and Kelly Gillespie. Richard A. Hodge is the production stage manager.

Punch is presented in association with Nottingham Playhouse, where Penford serves as artistic director.
