Lehman Trilogy Playwright Stefano Massini's Next Target: Donald Trump

The writer's new play Donald will make its U.K. premiere at Theatre Royal Bath.

Playwright Stefano Massini (The Lehman Trilogy) has set his sights on President Donald Trump. His new play Donald will make its U.K. premiere at Theatre Royal Bath later this year, running November 6-December 5. Opening night will be November 17.

The work digs into the truth and myth behind the incendiary entertainment and political figure. Director Sean Foley is adapting Massini's Italian text.

The play will be Massini's latest to take on real-life topics and figures from the U.S. His Tony-winning The Lehman Trilogy followed investment firm Lehman Brothers from its founding by three immigrant brothers to its 2008 collapse, by which time it had become the poster child of capitalism's worst. His 2023 Manhattan Project centered on physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, considered the father of the atomic bomb.

Casting and further creative team members for Donald are to be announced.
