Playwright Paula Vogel will be honored at the Dramatists Guild Foundation’s annual gala October 24 at NYC’s Ziegfeld Ballroom, along with men’s fashion designer Jeffrey Banks and foundation board member Barbara Olcott.
Vogel will be this year’s dramatist honor while Banks and Olcott will receive Patron of the Arts recognition for their support of the theatre community.

The two-time Tony nominee’s Pulitzer-winning work How I Learned to Drive played a 2022 Broadway revival with members of the show’s original cast—ncluding Mary-Louise Parker and David Morse—from its 1997 Off-Broadway premiere. Vogel's other stage credits include Indecent, The Long Christmas Ride Home, The Mineola Twins, The Baltimore Waltz, Hot’n’Throbbing, Desdemona, And Baby Makes Seven, The Oldest Profession, and A Civil War Christmas.
The event will mark the foundation’s 60th anniversary, celebrating six decades of supporting theatremakers through financial resources and educational programming.
