The Tony-honored Broadway Inspirational Voices, the nonprofit choir composed of a diverse group of Broadway performers, will present its annual fundraising concert April 13 at City Winery.

Entitled Rising With Purpose, the evening will celebrate the power of community and reaffirm the organization’s mission-centered vision for the future. The concert will be co-produced and directed by BIV Executive Director Angela Grovey and BIV Artistic Director Allen René Louis.

The one-night-only event will also honor Tony and Grammy winner Renée Elise Goldsberry (Hamilton, Girls5Eva) and Tony and Olivier-winning theatre and film producer Tom Kirdahy (Just in Time, Ragtime) with BIV Inspiration Awards. The BIV Inspiration Award honors those whose artistry, advocacy, compassion, humanity, and courage have made a meaningful impact on society.

The Rising With Purpose fundraiser is designed to be an immersive experience, "one that allows attendees to see, feel, and connect with where BIV is headed, and to commit to being an active part of our journey forward," press notes state. The evening will begin with a pre-show cocktail reception at 6 PM followed by the award ceremony and concert at 7 PM.

“Over the years, we’ve been lucky to be supported by the talented community that calls Broadway home,” said Grammy winner Louis in a statement. “We’re ready to rise with renewed clarity, purpose, and momentum, and we’re grateful to our community for being a part of our story.”

BIV is a diverse ensemble of actors, artists, and musicians from Chicago, Hamilton, Jersey Boys, Mamma Mia!, MJ the Musical, Shrek: The Musical, The Color Purple, Phantom of the Opera, Tina – The Tina Turner Musical, Wicked, and more.

Founded by Tony nominee Michael McElroy, the choir aims to spread hope and unity through the medium of music. Proceeds will go towards Broadway Inspirational Voices programming, focused on concerts, community outreach, music education, and collaborative projects that bring the joy of music and the arts to underserved populations.
