Mog the Forgetful Cat, the first stage adaptation of the picture books by Judith Kerr, will play London's The Old Vic July 11-29, 2023, one stop in its upcoming U.K. tour. Stops will also be made at Bristol Old Vic, Curve Leicester, Lowry Salford, Belgrade Theatre Coventry, and Exeter Northcott beginning February, 2023.
Helena Middleton and Jesse James direct the show about Mog, a forgetful cat who goes on an adventure with the Thomas family during which she catches a burglar, eats lots of eggs, and more. The production features original songs and live music.
The creative team will also feature musical director Joey Hickman, designer Laura McEwen, sound designer Beth Duke, lighting designer Rajiv Pattani, and movement director Catriona Giles.
The stage adaptation was devised by Tom England, Joey Hickman, Jesse Jones, Helena Middleton, Hanora Kamen, Kerry Lovell, Jesse Meadows, Robyn Sinclair and Ben Vardy. Additional devising by Tom Brennan, Emily Greenslade and James Newton.
Mog the Forgetful Cat is a co-production between The Old Vic, The Wardrobe Ensemble, and Royal & Derngate Northampton where it made its world premiere earlier this year. HarperCollins published Kerr's picture book series.
