Mog the Forgetful Cat arrives at London's The Old Vic July 11 for an engagement through July 29. The first stage adaptation of the picture books by Judith Kerr arrives at the theatre on its tour of the U.K.
Helena Middleton and Jesse James direct the show about Mog, a forgetful cat who goes on an adventure with the Thomas family during which she catches a burglar, eats lots of eggs, and more. The production features original songs and live music.
The stage adaptation was devised by Tom England, Kerry Lovell, Jesse Meadows, Ben Vardy, Joey Hickman, Jesse Jones, Helena Middleton, Hanora Kamen, and Robyn Sinclair. Additional devising is by Tom Brennan, Emily Greenslade and James Newton.
Starring in the production are England, Lovell, Meadows, and Newton who are joined by Max Gallagher, Georgina Goodchild, and Maria Goodman.
Filling out the creative team are musical director Joey Hickman, designer Laura McEwen, sound designer Beth Duke, lighting designer Rajiv Pattani, and movement director Catriona Giles.
The tour, which began in February, also includes stops at Bristol Old Vic, Curve Leicester, Lowry Salford, Belgrade Theatre Coventry, and Exeter Northcott.
Mog the Forgetful Cat is a co-production between The Old Vic, The Wardrobe Ensemble, and Royal & Derngate Northampton where it made its world premiere earlier this year. HarperCollins published Kerr's picture book series.
