Signature Theatre has announced its 2022 Gala will honor 2021 Pulitzer-winning playwright Katori Hall. The event, to be held at 6:30 PM June 13 at The Pershing Square Signature Center, will be hosted by Octet's Starr Busby.
Beginning with a cocktail reception, the evening will also include a dinner and performances, with special guest Pulitzer Prize winner Quiara Alegría Hudes (In the Heights), and Nicco Annan and Sheldon Best, original cast members of Hall's The Hot Wing King world premiere at Signature, performing a selection from the Pulitzer-winning play.
Hall will receive the Signature Outstanding Artist Award, and Signature Trustee Donna Walker-Kuhne will receive the Margot Adams Signature Award at the event.
Directing the evening will be Steve H. Broadnax III, who directed Hall's The Hot Wing King and The Mountaintop. This year's gala co-chairs are Bloomberg Philanthropies, Douglas and Kathy Chittenden, Edward Skyler, Citi, and Nina B. Matis and Alan Gosule.
