Presented by Opera Australia by special arrangement with The Really Useful Group, the production features direction by Simon Phillips (Broadway's Priscilla, Queen of the Desert) and set and costume designs by Gabriela Tylesova. Guy Simpson conducts.
Joshua Robson stars as the Phantom, opposite Georgina Hopson's Christine and Callum Francis's Raoul.
Directed by the late Harold Prince, the original production of The Phantom of the Opera premiered in London's West End in 1986, transferring to Broadway in 1988. The Broadway production, currently playing the Majestic Theatre, is the longest-running production in Broadway history. Based on the Gaston Leroux novel, the work centers on a mysterious Phantom who lives beneath the Paris Opera House and the young singer who becomes his obsession. Lloyd Webber's score introduced such favorites as "The Music of the Night, "All I Ask of You," and "Think of Me."
