Casting has been announced for the filmed version of Heathers the Musical, which reopened at London's The Other Palace in November 2021.

The filmed production will feature Ailsa Davidson as Veronica Sawyer, Simon Gordon as Jason “J.D” Dean, Maddison Firth as Heather Chandler, Vivian Panka as Heather Duke, Teleri Hughes as Heather McNamara, Vicki Lee Taylor as Ms. Fleming/Veronica’s Mom, Mhairi Angus as Martha Dunnstock, Liam Doyle as Kurt Kelly, Rory Phelan as Ram Sweeney, Oliver Brooks as Kurt’s Dad/Big Bud Dean/Coach Ripper, Andy Brady as Ram’s Dad/Principle Gowan/Veronica’s Dad, Benjamin Karran as Beleaguered Geek, Chris Parkinson as Hipster Dork/Officer McCord, Jermaine Woods as Peppy Stud/Officer Milner, Eleanor Morrison Halliday as Young Republicanette, Mary-Jean Caldwell as Stoner Chick, Hannah Lowther as New Wave Party Girl, and May Tether as Drama Club Drama Queen.

Performances resume May 20 and continue through September 4.

Director Andy Fickman said in an earlier statement, “Heathers has captured the hearts and imaginations of so many people in the U.K. since it was first produced here in 2018. This marks an exciting next step in the show’s journey.”

BK Studios CEO David Gilbery added, “This is a brilliant opportunity for us to bring this hit show to so many more audiences on a global scale, and we’re proud to be partnering with such a prolific studio in making that happen.”

With a book, music, and lyrics by Kevin Murphy and Laurence O’Keefe, Heathers the Musical is based on the cult film starring Winona Ryder and Christian Slater. The musical is directed by Fickman with choreography by Gary Lloyd, designs by David Shields, lighting by Ben Cracknell, sound by Dan Samson, and musical direction by Phil Cornwell.

Heathers the Musical was a record-breaker at The Other Palace in 2018, before transferring to the Theatre Royal Haymarket for a limited season later that year. Last year, the production returned to the Haymarket in parallel with a U.K. tour, before returning to its original home at The Other Palace.

Steam Motion and Sound was founded in 2003 by Brett Sullivan and Clayton Jacobsen in Sydney. Their live theatre films include Waitress, Bonnie and Clyde, Prince of Egypt (all currently in post-production); Aladdin (Disney+), Kinky Boots, Newsies, Miss Saigon, Billy Elliot, Love Never Dies, Phantom of the Opera 25th, Les Miserables 25th, and Jesus Christ Superstar Arena Spectacular.
