Broadway favorite and Tony winner BD Wong will host Change the Story: The Artists of Live & In Color at The Green Room 42 June 2 at 7 PM. The concert will serve as a fundraiser for Live & In Color.
The evening is slated to include performances from Juan Danner, Samy Nour, Younes Figaredo, Crystal Joy, Gabriella Mancuso, Stephen Mark, Ryan Morales, Janet Noh, Evan Michael Smith, Riki Stevens, and Sonya Venugopal, singing songs from Laiona Michelle's Little Girl Blue, Tommy Newman and Devanand Janki's With Bells On!, Cheeyang Ng and Eric Sorrels' The Golden Threshold, Nancy Nachama Cheser and Jaime Lozano's Present Perfect, Janet Noh and Lee Summers' Pangaea, Masi Asare's The Family Resemblance, and Adam Overett's Call It Courage, along with songs by Dionne McClain-Freeney and Rona Sidiqqui.
Founded by director-choreographer Devanand Janki, Live & In Color develops new plays and musical with a mission of increasing diversity and inclusion in the industry onstage and off. Their Little Girl Blue played an Off-Broadway run at New World Stages earlier this year, and the company has also developed La Egoista by Erlina Ortiz, Invictus Mingus by SEVAN, The Home We Left Behind by Valerie David, The Galilee House by BV Marshall, and Esspy by Nandita Shenoy, among others.
