Alex Edelman has taken his solo show Just For Us across the ocean to London. The comedian begins the Off-West End run of his show at Menier Chocolate Factory January 11 for a run through February 26. Opening night is set for January 18.
The Drama Desk-nominated show features personal tales of Edelman's Olympic athlete brother AJ, having an unconventional holiday season, and Edelman's personal experiences with anti-Semitism; the stand-up comedian goes into his decision to crash a New York City gathering of White Nationalists incognito, and the aftermath of that encounter.
Adam Brace, who directed the work through its multiple sold-out and extended Off-Broadway runs, continues to helm the production. It will feature lighting design by Tim Lutkin and sound design by Jonathan Everett.
Edelman first presented the show in 2018 at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. It then transferred to London's Soho Theatre and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, earning a Barry Award nomination and the Herald Angel Award along the way. Comedian Mike Birbiglia, currently presenting his own solo show The Old Man and The Pool on Broadway, serves as producer.
