Relentless will make its world premiere at Syracuse stage next month, running February 4-22. Syracuse Stage Associate Artistic Director Melissa Crespo will direct Rae Binstock's new drama set in the world of boxing.

The work follows Monique Jeffries, a once promising contender whose career is abruptly ended following a brutal knockout, and her fight to save her local boxing gym. Binstock, an amateur boxer, once worked the front desk at Gleason’s Gym in Brooklyn. Relentless is described in press notes as her "love letter" to the oldest boxing gym in the country.

The cast will include Rebecca S'manga Frank as Monique, with Jeorge Bennett Watson as Johnny, Stephen Michael Spencer as Matt, David Harrison Pralgo as Wookie, Caylie Filipa as Bex, and Sean Patrick Reilly as Chicken.

The production will include set design by Ann Beyersdorfer, costume design by Lux Haac, lighting design by Jess Creager, sound designer by Daniela Hart, and fight choreography by Teniece Divya Johnson. The production stage manager is Fran Acuña-Almiron. Relentless is being presented as a co-production with Sing Out, Louise! Productions.
