The company kicks off its 47th season with performances at the Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College.

New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players' The Pirates of Penzance

New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players kicks off its 47th season April 8-10 with Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance at New York’s Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College.

This cast includes Sarah Caldwell Smith and Sophie Thompson as Mabel, James Mills and David Macaluso alternating as Major-General Stanley and pirate sidekick Samuel, Cáitlín Burke and Angela Christine Smith as nursemaid Ruth, David Auxier and Quinto Ott as Sergeants of Police, David Wannen and Matthew Wages as the Pirate King, Alex Corson and Christopher Robin Sapp as Frederic, with Amy Maude Helfer, Hannah Holmes, Elisabeth Cernadas, Laura Sudduth, and Caitlin Borek as the Major-General’s daughters.

The company also features Michelle Seipel, Kendrick Pifer, Alexandra Imbrosci-Viera, Abby Kurth, Hannah Eakin, Cameron Smith, Chris-Ian Sanchez, Michael Connolly, Michael Galante, Lance Olds, Logan Pitts, and Matthew Carter.

Founder and Artistic Director Albert Bergeret, who is also the music director, shares the conductor’s podium with Associate Conductor Joseph Rubin.

The production also has choreography by Bill Fabris, scenic design by Albère, costume design by Quinto Ott and Gail Wofford, and lighting design by Benjamin Weill. The production stage manager is Joshua Strone, and the assistant stage manager is Annette Dieli.
