Stage and screen favorites David Harbour and Bill Pullman will lead the world premiere of Theresa Rebeck's new play Mad House. The limited run is set for June 15–September 4 at West End's Ambassadors Theatre.
The show takes place in rural Pennsylvania and follows Michael's return to his childhood home to care for his his dying father, Daniel. His siblings Nedward and Pam arrive to figure out how much money their father has left.
SAG winner and Tony nominee Harbour plays Michael. His previous theatre credits includes Off-Broadway's Cal in Camo, and Broadway productions of Glengarry Glen Ross, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, and all three parts of The Coast of Utopia. On screen, he is best known for playing Jim Hopper in Stranger Things and Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian in Marvel's Black Widow.
Pullman returns to the West End following his previous run in The Old Vic's All My Sons. Additional theatre work includes Broadway's The Other Place and Off-Broadway's The Jacksonian, Peter and Jerry. His television credits include playing Harry Ambrose in The Sinner and David J. Mahoney in the biographical series Halston, alongside theatre favorites Krysta Rodriguez, Ewan McGregor, and Kelly Bishop.
Rounding out the cast is Stephen Wight as Nedward, Sinead Matthews as Pam, Charlie Oscar as Skylar, Akiya Henry as Lillian, and Hanako Footman as Devon.
The new production reunites Rebeck with director Moritz von Stuelpnagel, following their collaborations on Bernhardt/Hamlet and Seared. The work will feature set design by Frankie Bradshaw, costume design by Tilly Grimes, music by Isobel Waller-Bridge, and sound design by Beth Duke. It is produced by Ambassador Theatre Group Productions and Gavin Kalin Productions.
