Already Perfect, a new musical with a book, music, and lyrics by Tony-winning actor-musician Levi Kreis, will get industry presentations in NYC February 3 and 4. Dave Solomon (Pump Up The Volume) is directing and has contributed book material.
Telling the story of a man's last shot at salvation before self-destruction, the work will also star Kreis, alongside Matthew Risch (Pal Joey), Ethan Kristopher Pugh (The Sound of Music), and Sherz Aletaha (Merrily We Roll Along). Casting is by Duncan Stewart and Mark Brandon of ARC.
Music direction will be by Matthew Antonio Perri (Bandstand), and Jessica Paz is serving as sound design consultant. Gary Mickelson is stage managing. Larry Lelli (Sunset Blvd.) is producing, with Foresight Theatrical's Allan Williams and Alex Wolfe serving as general managers.
Kreis won a Tony Award creating the role of Jerry Lee Lewis in Million Dollar Quartet. He has also performed in Violet on Broadway, and in national tours of Hadestown and Rent. Already Perfect is Kreis' first musical as a writer.
