Everybody’s Talking About Jamie begins its second tour of the U.K. September 7 at The Lowry in Salford, England.
The tour, scheduled to play through 2024, will make additional stops in Sunderland, Nottingham, Bromley, Birmingham, Cardiff, Brighton, Leeds, Blackpool, Llandudno, Newcastle, Wolverhampton, and Woking.
With a book and lyrics by Tom MacRae and music by Dan Gillespie Sells, Everybody's Talking About Jamie tells the true story of Jamie Campbell, who overcomes prejudice and homophobia to become a drag queen and schoolyard legend. The show, based on the 2011 documentary Jamie: Drag Queen at 16, was conceived by Jonathan Butterell and directed by Matt Ryan from Butterell's original direction.
Featured on the creative team are designer Anna Fleischle, choreographer Kate Prince, lighting designer Lucy Carter, sound designer Paul Groothuis, casting director Will Burton, music supervisor Theo Jamieson, music director Ben Holder, and video designer and Luke Halls.
The pop-driven musical premiered at the Sheffield Crucible in 2017 before transferring to London's West End later the same year. A filmed stage performance was shown in cinemas worldwide in 2018, and a feature film was released on Amazon Prime in 2021.
The Sheffield Theatres production of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie is produced on tour by Nica Burns, Ian Osborne, and Teresa and Craig Beech.
