Video Watch: Hugh Jackman Becomes a Neil Diamond Cover Artist in Trailer for Song Sung Blue

Inspired by a real story and co-starring Kate Hudson, the film is adapted from a 2008 documentary.

Hugh Jackman is singing on the big screen again! See the two-time Tony winner become a Neil Diamond impersonator in the newly released trailer for Song Sung Blue above. The film hits movie theatres December 25.

Co-starring Kate Hudson and also featuring Michael Imperioli, Fisher Stevens, Jim Belushi, Ella Anderson, King Princess, Mustafa Shakir, and Hudson Hilbert Hensley, Song Sung Blue is adapted from a 2008 documentary of the same name, by Greg Kohs. Both follow a Milwaukee couple who become local music stars after forming a Neil Diamond tribute band.

The upcoming release is written and directed by Craig Brewer, and produced by Brewer, John Davis, and John Fox for Davis Entertainment. Focus Features is distributing in the U.S.

Jackman was last seen on Broadway in The Music Man, and won a Tony Award for this 2004 turn as Peter Allan in The Boy From Oz. When not being X-Man Wolverine on screen, Jackman has also been seen trodding the boards in Broadway's A Steady RainHugh Jackman Back On Broadway (which earned him a 2012 Special Tony Award), and The River. He's also served as host of the Tony Awards four times, behind only Angela Lansbury's record of hosting five ceremonies.
