If you loved The Gilded Age and Knives Out, then buckle up, because Tony winners Mandy Patinkin, Janet McTeer, and Patti LuPone are starring in a new murder mystery limited series called The Artist, which is set towards the end of the 20th century. Watch the new trailer below.
In the series, Tony winners Patinkin and McTeer played Norman and Marian Henry, an eccentric couple who are friends with the brightest minds of the day. But things go awry when Norman is murdered and Marian must solve his murder.
Created, written, and directed by Aram Rappaport, the show also stars Danny Huston, Hank Azaria, Ever Anderson, Clark Gregg, Patti LuPone, Zachary Quinto, and Katharine McPhee. It also features some real historical figures, such as Edgar Dégas, Thomas Edison, and Evelyn Nesbit (Ragtime isn't the only work fascinated by the girl on the swing).
The Artist is on a newer streaming service called The Network. And the best part (besides the starry cast) is: It’s free! You just have to watch ads, similar to the experience of watching old-school network television (hence the name of the streamer).
Check out the first three episodes of The Artist will be released November 27; the final three episodes will be released December 25.
