A starry Off-Broadway revival of Moliére's Tartuffe begins at New York Theatre Workshop November 28 ahead of a December 16 opening night. The already extended limited run, featuring a new script by A Doll's House, Part 2 playwright Lucas Hnath, will continue through January 24, 2026. Obie winner Sarah Benson (Teeth) is at the helm.

As for that starry cast, that's being led by Tony winner Matthew Broderick in the title role, opposite Emmy Award winner David Cross (Arrested Development) as Orgon, Obie Award winner Emily Davis (Is This A Room) as Mariane, RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Bianca Del Rio as Mme Pernelle, Tony nominee Amber Gray (Hadestown) as Elmire, Obie winner Ryan J. Haddad (Dark Disabled Stories) as Damis, 2025 Tony winner Francis Jue (Yellow Face) as Cleante, Tony winner Lisa Kron (Fun Home) as Dorine, and Emmy nominee Ikechukwu Ufomadu (Ziwe) as Valére.

The revival's creative team also includes choreographer Raja Feather Kelly, composer Heather Christian, scenic designer dots (Oh, Mary!), costume designer Enver Chakartash (I Love You So Much I Could Die), lighting designer Stacey Derosier (Lights Out: Nat “King” Cole), and sound designer Peter Mills Weiss (The Headlands). Kasson Marroquin (Wet Brain) is serving as production stage manager.
