The anticipated Off-Broadway revival of Tartuffe starring two-time Tony winner Matthew Broderick opened December 16 at New York Theatre Workshop. And the critics are chiming in!
The already extended limited run, featuring a new script by A Doll's House, Part 2 playwright Lucas Hnath adapted from Molière's classic, will continue through January 24, 2026. Obie winner Sarah Benson (Teeth) is at the helm.
Broderick stars in the title role with a cast that includes Emmy Award winner David Cross (Arrested Development) as Orgon, Obie Award winner Emily Davis (Is This A Room) as Mariane, RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Bianca Del Rio as Mme Pernelle, Tony nominee Amber Gray (Hadestown) as Elmire, Obie winner Ryan J. Haddad (Dark Disabled Stories) as Damis, 2025 Tony winner Francis Jue (Yellow Face) as Cleante, Tony winner Lisa Kron (Fun Home) as Dorine, and Emmy nominee Ikechukwu Ufomadu (Ziwe) as Valére.
