News London’s National Announces Casting Details Through February 2017 New productions include Ivo van Hove directing Ruth Wilson as Hedda Gabler and Robert Icke directing Mark Strong and Hope Davis in David Hare's The Red Barn.

Details and dates for new productions to premiere at the National Theatre through February 2017 have been announced.

Ivo van Hove's new production of Hedda Gabler, featuring Ruth Wilson in the title role, will begin performances December 5 prior to an official opening December 12 in the Lyttelton Theatre. Presented in a new version by Patrick Marber, it will also feature Chukwudi Iwuji, Kate Duchêne, Éva Magyar, Sinead Matthews and Kyle Soller. The production will have set and lighting design by Jan Versweyveld, costume design by An D’Huys and sound by Tom Gibbons.

Alexander Zeldin will direct his own new play, Love, beginning performances December 6 prior to an official opening December 13 for a run in repertory through January 10, 2017, in the Dorfman Theatre. Written through a devising process with an ensemble of actors that includes Emily Beacock, Darcey Brown, Anna Calder-Marshall, Luke Clarke, Grace Doherty, Janet Etuk, Nick Holder, Vitaly Outkine, Yonatan Pele’Roodner and Bobby Stallwood, it invites the audience to bear witness to an intimate story of family love for our times. It will be designed by Natasha Jenkins with lighting design by Marc Williams and sound design by Josh Anio Grigg.

Further casting has also been revealed for previously announced productions. David Hare's The Red Barn, opening officially October 17 in the Lyttelton Theatre, features Mark Strong and Hope Davis, joined by Elizabeth Debicki, Michael Elwyn, Stuart Milligan, Anna Skellern, Nigel Whitmey, Oliver Alvin-Wilson and Jade Yourell in Robert Icke's production.

Amadeus, opening officially October 26 in the Olivier Theatre, stars Lucian Msamati as Salieri, joined by Sarah Amankwah, Hammed Animashaun, Geoffrey Beevers, Fleur de Bray, Karla Crome, Tom Edden, Adam Gillen, Matthew Hargreaves, Andrew Macbean, Alexandra Mathie, Eamonn Mulhall, Robyn Allegra Parton, Hugh Sachs, Eleanor Sutton, Wendy Dawn Thompson and Peter Willcock.

A Pacifist's Guide to the War on Cancer, opening officially October 19 in the Dorfman, has a cast that comprises Naana Agyei-Ampadu, Amy Booth-Steel, Jenny Fitzpatrick, Hal Fowler, Amanda Hadingue, Francesca Mills, Golda Rosheuvel, Max Runham, Rose Shalloo, Gareth Snook, Lottie Vallis and Gary Wood.
