Playbill Travel announces the star-studded roster of talent joining one of our most luxurious and exciting cruises to date: Broadway from Bulgaria to Budapest. This one-of-a-kind experience invites guests to travel from Romania to Hungary June 21–28, 2026, on AmaWaterways luxury ship, the AmaMagna.
Joining guests on this one-of-a-kind experience are Tony Award-winning performers Santino Fontana, Jessie Mueller, and Paulo Szot; Tony nominee Eva Noblezada; and Reeve Carney. Plus Playbill Travel favorite, John McDaniel, will serve as music director/pianist.
“We are very excited to experience all of this region and its deep, rich history”, shares Phil Birsh, CEO and President of Playbill, Inc and Playbill Travel. “I would say this remarkable region simply has more history than most areas we can ever visit. There is so much to see and our ship, the AmaMagna, is the most luxurious ship in Europe.”
Playbill Cruises provide guests with up-close-and-personal experiences at the highest level, unlike any other vacation available to a Broadway fan. Cruise guests explore the world by day, then enjoy intimate and up-close cabaret performances from Broadway’s finest on board a 5-star luxury ship in the evening.
Upon flying to Romania, guests will embark in Giurgiu for an evening of celebrating the start of this incredible voyage. Next, experience the ancient area of Ruse, Bulgaria, with excursions ranging from the medieval fortress of Veliko Tarnovo to the Rock-Hewn Churches of Ivanovo. Continue exploring Bulgaria in Vidin, one of Bulgaria’s oldest cities, with options to see the Baba Vida Fortress or have a wine tasting at a local winery. Step back in time and explore the medieval Golubac Fortress. Then, cruise through the Iron Gates, a natural wonder with a rich history.
Admire the ancient carving of King Decebalus, the last king of Dacia. Discover the vibrant city of Belgrade on a city tour, and visit the Nikola Tesla Museum and the stunning Kalemegdan Fortress. Hike to the fortress or join a bike tour. Savor the flavors of Serbia with a tasting of local brandy and appetizers.
Discover the rich history and culture of Vukovar, Croatia with a chance to visit Eltz Manor House and its collection of historic artifacts, painting & clothing or take a tour in the Old Cellars, famous for their Croatian wines. The ship will dock in Mohacs, Hungary, but guests will have the option to explore Pécs and the UNESCO designated Christian Necropolis, or to head to the Szekszárd wine region, which was established more than 2,000 years ago.
Guests complete their journey by disembarking the AmaMagna in Budapest, to begin their travels home.
