The new immersive musical Last Night at the Rue Bayou will receive an invitation-only industry reading May 9.

With a concept, book, and lyrics by Michael Meth, original music by Martee LeBow, and direction by Tracey Conyer Lee, Last Night at the Rue Bayou immerses audiences in an out-of-the-way club on the edge of New Orleans. As a special guest of the proprietor, Miss Ilean, attendees are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy Abita beer, a bowl of Gumbo, a sweet treat in the form of Miss Sally's Creole Pralines, and plenty of New Orleans libations.

The reading will feature Carrie Compere and Arnold Harper II (both currently in Papermill's Gun & Powder), Cherry Torres (Hamilton), and Saint Aubyn (Ain’t Too Proud) in leading roles. They will be joined by D’Ambrose Boyd, Paul DeBoy, Nicholas Park, Stephanie Pope, Harris M. Turner, and Montria Walker.

Irwin Fisch is music supervisor of the reading, and the music director is Kenny Seymour. The "love letter to New Orleans" is produced by MTTM Theatrics (Mark Rubinsky and Tony Castrigno), with general manager LDK Productions. Casting by Amber Snead. The production stage manager is Julia Perez.
