The hit Broadway revival of Chess doesn't have to be someone else's story; theatre fans with tighter purse strings can still make their way into one of the hottest tickets in town through several budget-friendly ticket options.
The revival, which opened at Broadway's Imperial Theatre November 16, 2025, has been extended through June 14. The production has consistently one of Broadway's top grossers, breaking house records. Usually that means high ticket prices. For those looking for a deal however, there are some options.
Fans can enter the $49 digital lottery beginning at 12 AM ET at Rush.Telecharge.com one day before each performance and closing the same day at 3 PM ET. Winners will be drawn at 10 AM and 3 PM ET. Winners may buy up to two tickets at $49 each.
Also priced at $49, a limited number of in-person rush tickets are available at 10 AM the day of each performance (and 12 PM on Sundays) at the Imperial Theatre box office. There is a limit of two tickets per person, at $49 each.
Both lottery and rush seats may be located in any section of the theatre. While every effort is made by the box office tea, to seat pairs together with a full view, there is a chance that pairs may be split up or a seat may have a partial view of the stage.
Another same-day option is to visit the TKTS Booth in Times Square or at Lincoln Center, which provides same-day discounted tickets to select shows on Broadway. Not every Broadway show is available at TKTS and Chess is not always available at the booth. But when it is available, tickets are usually 50% off and priced anywhere from $80 to $100. The TKTS Booth hours are generally 3 PM to 8 PM Monday, Tuesday, and Friday; 11 AM to 8 PM Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday; and 11 AM to 7 PM Sunday. Outside of the rush and lottery programs, Chess also offers group discounts for parties of 10 or more, starting at $59. Group tickets must be organized through Broadway Inbound.
Chess does not offer student or military discounts at this time, but for performances January 20–February 12, you can take advantage of one of the industry’s biggest annual ticket offers: Broadway Week! Several hit shows, including Chess, are offering two-for-one tickets for these dates. Click here for more information.
