Brooke Adams (Monk) and Marilu Henner (Chicago) have joined the rotating lineup of stars leading Pen Pals Off-Broadway, currently playing a four-times extended run at DR2 Theatre through March 15, 2026. The duo will co-star as Bernie and Mags (respectively) for performances February 3-15, 2026.
Also set to star in the weeks ahead are Donna Lynne Champlin and Emily Skinner (December 10-21), Veanne Cox and Melissa Gilbert (December 23, 2025-January 4, 2026), Sharon Lawrence and Maureen McCormick (January 7-18), Randy Graff and Beth Leavel (January 21-February 1), Gina Torres and Carmen Cusack (February 18-March 1), and Jodi Benson and Marcia Mitzman Gaven (March 4-15).
Inspired by a true story, Pen Pals invites audiences into the lives of Bernie and Mags—two women whose bond was forged in adolescence. This story of connection and resilience unfolds through five decades of letters between the two women who never meet in person.
The production also has scenic design by Jessica Parks, costume design by David C. Woolard, lighting design by Jill Nagle, sound design by Nick Simone, and production stage management by Rose Riccardi.

The production began at NJ Rep and made its Off-Broadway debut at St. Clements Theatre.
