Tony winner Priscilla Lopez has joined the roster of stars rotating in the Off-Broadway encore run of Michael Griffo's Pen Pals, currently running at DR2 Theatre. Lopez, a Tony winner for her work in the original company of A Chorus Line, will star opposite Pauletta Pearson Washington October 15-26. The extended run continues through December 21 with Suzanne Barabas at the helm.

Lopez is stepping in for the previously announced Kate Burton, who has departed the production.

The production currently stars Michelle Clunie and Megan Follows, with upcoming performances slated to feature Sharna Burgess and Paige Davis (September 17-28), Kathleen Chalfant and Ellen McLaughlin (October 1-12), Catherine Curtin and Marcia Cross (October 29-November 9), Sharon Lawrence and Maureen McCormick (November 12-23), and Emily Skinner and Donna Lynne Champlin (December 10-21).

The work follows Bernie and Mags, two women living in different countries who are best friends despite having never met, thanks to a 50-year pen-pal relationship. The work made its world premiere last year at New Jersey Repertory Company.

The creative team includes set designer Jessica Parks, costume designer David C. Wollard, lighting designer Jill Nagle, and sound designer Nick Simone. Rose Riccardi is serving as production stage manager.

Lisa Dozier Shacket is producing with Joe Trentacosta, Logan DeWitt, Anthony Hazzard, Scott Stolzenberg, Holly Garman, and Michael Graf, and in association with NJ Repertory Company. General management is by LDK Productions' Michael Shannon.
