Brandon Victor Dixon, who spent a year playing Aaron Burr in the Broadway production of the Tony-winning Hamilton, has been promoted to a series regular for the fifth season of the Starz drama Power, according to Deadline.
Dixon, whose Broadway credits also include The Color Purple, Motown, and Shuffle Along, was a recurring character in the fourth season of the drama playing the role of attorney Terry Silver.
Created by Courtney Kemp, Power concerns New York City nightclub owner James “Ghost” St. Patrick (played by Omari Hardwick), a drug kingpin who lives a double life. Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson produces the program, which returns in 2018.
Dixon was Tony-nominated for his work in both The Color Purple and Shuffle Along.
