The Alicia Keys musical Hell's Kitchen will play its final performance at Broadway's Shubert Theatre February 22.
The production will also welcome the return of original company member Brandon Victor Dixon beginning January 27. Dixon will return to his Tony-nominated role of absentee father Davis for the remainder of the Broadway engagement. Hell's Kitchen officially opened April 20, 2024, and won two Tonys and a Grammy, following a 2023 engagement at Off-Broadway's Public Theater. By the time it closes, the musical will have played nearly 800 performances.
Though the musical has consistently grossed over $1 million a week since it opened, with a peak of $1.8 million in one week, its grosses had been steadily trending downwards. In the most recent week, ending January 11, the show took in $828,188, lower than its weekly operating cost.
Hell's Kitchen will continue to travel around the country in a multi-year national tour and will go on to launch international productions in South Korea, Germany, and Australia.
