Founded in 1985, Teatro SEA (Society of the Educational Arts, Inc.) is the nation’s leading bilingual children’s theater, dedicated to celebrating Latiné heritage and promoting literacy through the performing arts. Based at The Clemente on New York City’s Lower East Side, SEA produces original bilingual theater, arts-in-education residencies, and community festivals that reach thousands of children and families every year in New York, Puerto Rico, and across the Americas.

The Sales & Finance Associate supports Teatro SEA’s earned revenue growth and financial management systems. This role combines proactive sales development, client relationship management, accounts payable and receivable oversight, collections, invoicing, and financial reporting support. Working closely with the Administrative Director and executive leadership, this position strengthens revenue pipelines while ensuring accurate financial tracking, timely payments, and responsible fiscal management.
Proactively identify and pursue new school partnerships, presenters, and community organizations.
Conduct outreach via phone, email, and networking to expand client base.
Maintain and grow relationships with existing partners to secure repeat bookings.
Track sales leads, pipeline activity, and conversion rates.
Collaborate with leadership on seasonal sales strategies and revenue targets.
Represent Teatro SEA at networking events to generate new business.
Meet or exceed earned revenue and booking goals.
Manage bookings from inquiry through contract execution.
Serve as primary contact for contracts, scheduling, invoicing, and payments.
Generate and issue invoices.
Process ticket sales and reconcile box office reporting.
Maintain accurate sales and client data.
Prepare earned revenue reports for leadership.
Monitor accounts receivable aging reports.
Track and record incoming payments and deposits.
Conduct professional collections follow-up.
Coordinate with NYC public school systems for payment processing.
Resolve billing discrepancies.
Provide regular AR and collections status reports.
Process vendor, artist, and contractor invoices.
Verify invoice accuracy and approvals.
Prepare and track payments.
Maintain organized payable documentation.
Manage vendor records and W-9 documentation.
Assist with budget preparation and monitoring.
Support payroll processing.
Maintain accurate financial records.
Assist with grant-related financial reporting.
Support audit preparation.
Prepare financial summaries for leadership and board meetings.
Maintain organized financial and sales files.
Assist with permits and event-related financial tracking.
Support special projects as assigned.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Arts Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
2–3 years of experience in sales, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, or nonprofit finance.
Experience in proactive sales and revenue generation.
Experience managing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and collections.
Strong Excel and financial tracking proficiency.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
Experience with NYC public schools or DOE systems.
Familiarity with CRM (e.g., TripleSeat) and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
Experience in arts, education, or nonprofit organizations.
Part time (30 hours per week), on-site at Teatro SEA’s headquarters at The Clemente.
Standard office hours with occasional evenings and weekends required.
