The world premiere of Anne Washburn's The Burning Cauldron of Fiery Fire, a co-production between Vineyard Theatre and The Civilians, officially opened at Vineyard November 9, and the reviews are rolling in.
The production originally began performances October 23, and, newly extended, will now continue through December 7.
Steve Cosson is directing, reuniting with Washburn after their earlier collaborations on Mr. Burns, A Post Electric Play; and A Devil at Noon. Starring are Jeff Biehl (Patriots) as Simon, Bartley Booz (Peter Pan Goes Wrong) as Paul, Cricket Brown (WeCrashed) as Gracie, Donnetta Lavinia Grays (The Skin of Our Teeth) as Diana, Bruce McKenzie (Camino Real) as Thomas, Bobby Moreno (Lazarus) as Milo, Tom Pecinka (Stereophonic) as Will, and Marianne Rendón (Charlie Says) as Mari. Casting is by Henry Russell Bergstein and Serafina Tiranno-Cimisi.
The new work is set in Northern California at an intentional community that lives off the land. When a member of the group dies unexpectedly, everything about their world comes into question.
