Off-Broadway News Anne Washburn's The Burning Cauldron of Fiery Fire Begins World Premiere Off-Broadway October 23

Donnetta Lavinia Grays, Tom Pecinka, and more star in the Vineyard and The Civilians co-production.

Vineyard Theatre and The Civilians kick off the world premiere of Anne Washburn's The Burning Cauldron of Fiery Fire at Vineyard October 23, ahead of a November 9 opening night. Steve Cosson is directing, reuniting with Washburn after their earlier collaborations on Mr. Burns, A Post Electric Play; and A Devil at Noon.

Starring are Jeff Biehl (Patriots) as Simon, Bartley Booz (Peter Pan Goes Wrong) as Paul, Cricket Brown (WeCrashed) as Gracie, Donnetta Lavinia Grays (The Skin of Our Teeth) as Diana, Bruce McKenzie (Camino Real) as Thomas, Bobby Moreno (Lazarus) as Milo, Tom Pecinka (Stereophonic) as Will, and Marianne Rendón (Charlie Says) as Mari. Casting is by Henry Russell Bergstein and Serafina Tiranno-Cimisi.

The new work is set in Northern California at an intentional community that lives off the land. When a member of the group dies unexpectedly, everything about their world comes into question.

The production features scenic design by Andrew Boyce, costume design by Emily Rebholz, lighting design by Amith Chandrashaker, sound design and music by Ryan Gamblin, wig and hair design by Tommy Kurzman, movement coordination by Brandon Washington, puppet design by Monkey Boys Productions, special effects consultation by Steve Cuiffo, songs and vocal arrangements by Nehemiah Luckett, and music direction by Dan Sander-Wells. Esti Bernstein serves as production stage manager, and Trey Blevins is prop supervisor.
