In what has become a RuPaul's Drag Race season staple, the "Rusical" takes on the form of a 10-minute mini-musical production number designed not only to entertain, but to test the drag queen contestants' triple-threat skills: acting, dancing, and lip-syncing. Inspired by the Broadway extravaganza Moulin Rouge! The Musical, Moulin Ru, the Season 14 Rusical aired March 25.
Moulin Ru features the drag race queens as a quartet of courtesans, the bearded-lady manager of the night club, the star performer Saltine, and the green absinthe fairy. Pop singer Leland and actor Leslie Jordan guest star as the suitors vying for Saltine's attention. In a nod to the score of Moulin Rouge! The Musical with its mash-ups, covers, and medleys, this Rusical even includes a few of RuPaul's own greatest hits. Watch the whole Rusical in the video above.
Moulin Rouge! The Musical is currently running at Broadway's Al Hirschfeld Theatre starring Aaron Tveit, Natalie Mendoza, Tam Mutu, and Eric Anderson.
