Presented by Wessex Grove, Gavin Kalin Productions, and Kater Gordon, VANYA, a solo adaptation of Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya, will be released to cinemas worldwide February 22, 2024.
The National Theatre production stars Andrew Scott (Fleabag), who brought to life multiple characters in the production, which was adapted by Simon Stephens (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time) and directed by Sam Yates.
The production played a sold-out run at the Duke of York's Theatre last year to great acclaim. Get a first look at the trailer for the filmed performance above.

Scott takes on every role in Stephens' adaptation of the Chekhov play, about a family beset by secrets, illicit love interests, and deep divides over their burdensome estate.
Said Scott in an earlier statement, “Heartbreaking, hilarious, sexy, devastating—the genius and extraordinary humanity of Chekhov just knocks me out."
It's a sentiment echoed by Stephens, who added, "This is work that reminds me again and again that theatre is our greatest art form. The most alive. The funniest. The sexiest. The most heart-breaking. The most human.”
