Andrew Moorhead's This Purple Fucking Pot will have a pop-up run of performances in a midtown office space next month. The site-specific office comedy transforms a real Midtown office into the war room of four brand strategists. (The location of the office will be revealed to ticket holders prior to their performance.) It will run November 12-23.

Jordan Goodsell will direct the work, which follows coworkers Alison, Bobby, Del, and GeGe, when their simple branding exercise for a completely nondescript purple cooking pot spirals into an existential crisis, as they debate whether the pot should stand for political healing, bisexual pride, or Martha Stewart’s next merch drop. Audience members are invited into the story upon arrival, as every “new hire” is onboarded and assigned to a team (Pet, Beauty, Wellness, or Toy), becoming part of the absurd machinery of this brand.

"This play is inspired by my experience in corporate America,” said playwright Moorhead in a statement. “I wrote it to be the easiest play to produce imaginable—all you need is a table, four chairs, and a purple fucking pot. Everything else can be left to your imagination. It’s a sharp, strange, cathartic pressure-cooker about how much of ourselves we surrender to our jobs—and what happens when we realize none of it matters.”

The cast will include Jenna Coker-Jones as Alison, Andrew Moorhead as Del, Zia Lawrence as GeGe, E.R.O.S. as Bobby, and Celeste Sena as Intern Ashley and others.

LDK Productions/Michael Shannon serves as general manager, and Abby Willson serves as assistant director and intimacy director. Carly Gilmore is the stage manager alongside assistant stage manager Sophia Lopez. Alex Kopnick is the technical director.
