What a Day-O!
Following its third run on Broadway, Beetlejuice the Musical is heading back out on tour. The non-Equity tour will play its first public performance February 13 in Fresno, California, at the Saroyan Theatre, and officially launch at the Safe Credit Union Performing Arts Center in Sacramento, California, February 17, before haunting more than 50 cities across North America.
Leading the cast will be Ryan Stajmiger as Beetlejuice and Leianna Weaver as Lydia Deetz. They will be joined by David Wilson as Adam, Kaitlin Feely as Barbara, Jeff Brooks as Charles, and Bailey Frakenberg as Delia.
The cast will also include Alessandra Casanova as Miss Argentina, Adam Fields as Otho, Da’Zaria Harris as Maxine Dean/Juno, Dan Mason as Maxie Dean, and Mai Caslowitz as the Girl Scout. The touring company also features Justin Baret, Neftali Benitez, Mathew Blasio, Ian Dembek, Carly Natania Grossman, Haley Izurieta, Sterling Nelson Jones, Michael P. Korner, Catie Leonard, Nick Signor, Jillian Worthing, and Nicole Zelka.
Adapted from the cult-favorite 1988 Tim Burton film by book writers Scott Brown (Castle Rock) and Anthony King (Broad City) and songwriter Eddie Perfect (King Kong), Beetlejuice first premiered on Broadway in 2019, with direction by Tony winner Alex Timbers (Moulin Rouge!) and choreography by Connor Gallagher. The show earned eight 2019 Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical. The original run closed during the 2020 pandemic shutdown, but the show returned for a second go at the Marquis Theatre in 2022 before launching the national tour later the same year. The third Broadway engagement just completed its run at the Palace Theatre January 3. International bows have played Tokyo, Seoul, and Melbourne.
The tour will be directed by Catie Davis and choreographed by Michael Fatica. Music supervision, orchestrations, and incidental music are by Kris Kukul (Joan of Arc: Into the Fire). Beetlejuice includes scenic design by three-time Tony nominee David Korins (Hamilton), costume design by six-time Tony winner William Ivey Long (The Producers), lighting design by Tony winner Kenneth Posner (Kinky Boots), sound design by Tony winner Peter Hylenski (Moulin Rouge!), projection design by Tony nominee and Drama Desk winner Peter Nigrini (Dear Evan Hansen), puppet design by Drama Desk winner Michael Curry (The Lion King), special effects design by Jeremy Chernick (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child), illusions by Michael Weber (Forrest Gump), hair and wig design by Drama Desk nominee Charles G. LaPointe, make-up design by Joe Dulude II, and casting by Geoff Josselson Casting. The line producer is Jenny Gersten.
Lauren Guiso serves as the production stage manager, Teagan deGroen is the assistant stage manager, Sol Rivera is the company manager, and Fred Mursch is the associate company manager.
