Keith Harrison Dworkin and Laura Schein's Emojiland will arrive in the West End October 31. The Garrick Theatre will present a one-night-only concert performance of the show, which originally opened Off-Broadway in January 2020.
Starring in the cast will be Blake Patrick Anderson (Be More Chill), Laura Baldwin (Cinderella), Louise Dearman (Wicked), Olly Dobson (Back to the Future), Hiba Elchikhe (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie), Renee Lamb (Six), Hannah Lowther (Heathers), Tim Mahendran (& Juliet), Natalie Paris (Six), Oliver Saville (Rocky Horror Show), Jonny Weldon (101 Dalmations), and Dean John Wilson (Aladdin).
The musical comedy follows a community of emoji archetypes—a smiling face dealing with depression, a princess who doesn’t want a prince, and a skull dying for deletion, just to name a few.
Emojiland was originally presented by the New York Musical Festival. It then premiered Off-Broadway in 2020, produced by Visceral Entertainment and directed by Thomas Caruso. An original cast recording has been released by Broadway Records.
