Casting is set for the London debut of The Mad Ones, which will play The Other Palace May 7–June 1 with an official opening May 9.
Directed by Emily Susanne Lloyd, the cast will feature Dora Gee (Wolfed) as Samantha Brown, Jacob Fowler (Heathers the Musical) as Adam, Courtney Stapleton (Dear Evan Hansen) as Kelly, Thea-Jo Wolfe (Little Red Riding Hood) as Beverly, and Eliza Bowden (Heathers the Musical), who will cover the roles of Kelly and Sam. Gee is reprising her role from last year's Birmingham production.
Featuring music by Bree Lowdermilk
(Henry and Mudge) and a book and lyrics by Kait Kerrigan (The Great Gatsby), the musical follows 18-year-old Samantha Brown, who telescopes back to a time to relive her senior year. Audiences are introduced to the characters who were in her life before her world fell apart: Sam’s well-intentioned helicopter mother, Bev; her high school sweetheart boyfriend, Adam; and her painfully alive best friend, Kelly, who haunts her.
The upcoming production will also have musical direction by Callum Thompson, choreography by Lauren Stroud, set and costume design by Reuben Speed, and lighting design by Joanne Marshall.
Samantha Creswick and Electric Press Productions are the lead producers along with creative producers James Edge and West End Best Friend Productions.
