The film reunites director Kenny Leon with most of the cast from his 2004 Broadway revival, including Sean Combs as Walter Lee Younger, Audra McDonald as Ruth Younger, Phylicia Rashad as Lena Younger and Sanaa Lathan as Beneatha Younger.
Joining the original stars are Bill Nunn (also from the Broadway cast), Ron Cephas Jones, Sean Patrick Thomas and John Stamos.
This three-hour, small-screen version was adapted from Hansberry's play by Paris Qualles and produced for Sony Pictures by Craig Zadan and Neil Meron.
