Real-life Broadway spouses Phillipa Soo and Steven Pasquale will co-star in Hugh Martin and Timothy Gray's High Spirits at New York City Center Encores!, set to play the Manhattan venue February 4-15, 2026.
The pair will star as Ruth and Charles Condomine in the 1964 musical version of Noël Coward's Blithe Spirit. Tony nominee Jessica Stone (Kimberly Akimbo) is directing.
The rarely-seen show hasn't been produced on the Main Stem since its 1964 premiere; the musical follows a novelist and his wife whose life is upended when a medium unwittingly conjures the spirit of the man's first wife. Additional casting, by The Telsey Office, is to be announced.
Ellenore Scott will choreograph, with Encores! Music Director Mary-Mitchell Campbell set to lead the Encores! Orchestra from the podium as music director.
The Encores! season also includes Michael John LaChiusa's The Wild Party, directed by Lili-Anne Brown and performing March 18-29, 2026; and La Cage aux Folles, directed by Robert O'Hara, starring Billy Porter, and performing June 17-28.
Encores! subscriptions are available at NYCityCenter.org. Single ticket sales will begin October 14 for members and October 21 for the general public.
