Tony-winning Best Musical Maybe Happy Ending has released new casting for both the Broadway run (continuing at the Belasco Theatre) and upcoming national tour.
On Broadway, the production will welcome Zachary Noah Piser (KPOP) as Oliver beginning May 19, with Piser succeeding Tony-winning original star Darren Criss (whose final performance is May 17 as previously announced). Alongside him, the production has promoted standby Hannah Kevitt, who will assume the role of Claire full time, also beginning May 19. Continuing Broadway cast also includes original company members Dez Duron and Marcus Choi, along with understudies Steven Huynh, Daniel May, and Christopher James Tamayo.
The Broadway production will also welcome standby Savy Jackson and vacation cover Cathy Ang, with Jackson scheduled to star as Claire August 4-22.
The tour, set to begin from Baltimore's Hippodrome Theatre September 13-19, will star Huynh as Oliver and Claire Kwon as Claire, both taking over the roles full-time after serving as standbys in the original Broadway cast. Kwon is currently playing Claire on Broadway through May 17. Further tour casting is to be announced.
The musical opened at the Belasco November 12, 2024. The work, featuring a Tony-winning book and score by Hue Park and Will Aronson, was the most Tony-winning show of last season. The show was also one of three productions to be the most nominated of the season, with nods in 10 categories. See the full list of 2025 Tony winners here.
