News Original Side Show Star Is Mame at Virginia Rep Side Show Tony nominee Emily Skinner stars in the title role of Virginia Repertory Theatre's production of the classic Jerry Herman musical Mame, which is presented Nov. 20, 2014-Jan. 11, 2015, at the Sara Belle and Neil November Theatre. Opening is Nov. 21.

Patti D'Beck directs and choreographs a cast that also includes Desiree Roots Centeio as Vera Charles, Jody Ashworth as Beau, Brandon McKinney as Young Patrick, Audra Honaker as Agnes, Alexander Sapp as Patrick, Ray Sheen as Ito, Thomas Nowlin as Lindsay, Andy Boothby as Dwight Babcock, Susan Sanford as Mrs. Upson, Libby Schneider as Pegeen, Catherine Walker as Gloria, Jody Strickler as Mother Burnside, Nicole Oberleitner as Sally Cato, Frank Creasy as Mr. Upson and Brent Gallahan as Junior.

The ensemble comprises Anne Rose, Erica Mini, Megan Tatum, Cariel Hughes, Alana Thomas, Mallory Keene, Andrew Reid, Paul S. Major, Aza Raine, Brad Willcuts, Sam Elton, Steven Moeslein, Anthony Cosby-Knowles, Will Meredith and Reed Patterson.

Based on the novel "Auntie Mame" by Patrick Dennis, Mame features a book by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee and music and lyrics by Jerry Herman.

Set in New York during the Great Depression, this lavish musical, according to press notes, "tells the story of Mame Dennis, an extravagant bon vivant whose life is turned upside down when the son of her late brother comes to live with her. Mame tries her best to keep up her usual fabulous flair while responsibly raising her new son."
