A starry roster of guest performers join the Broadway favorite in his new show directed by Richard Jay-Alexander.

Tony nominee Norm Lewis returns to 54 Below June 6 for an engagement that will conclude just prior to the 2024 Tony Awards at Lincoln Center.

The Broadway favorite is offering Norm Lewis: Summertime (Special Tony Edition) June 6–8 and June 10–12, all at 7 PM. The concerts feature direction by Richard Jay-Alexander with musical direction by Joseph Joubert. Perry Cavari is featured on percussion and drums with Dylan Shamat on bass.

The all-Broadway song list includes tunes from Lewis' Main Stem outings as well as Broadway songs that inspired him and a few from musicals the actor hasn't had the chance to perform in.

The evenings also boast a starry roster of guest performers: Tony winner Melba Moore June 6, pastor Bobby Lewis and Tony recipient Stephen Schwartz June 7, Tony winner Marc Shaiman June 8, Tony winner Alice Ripley June 10, Tony nominee Will Swenson and Seth Rudetsky June 11, Tony winner Brian Stokes Mitchell and Nova Payton June 12, and Kimberly Akimbo's Olivia Elease Hardy June 13.

Lewis earned a 2012 Tony nomination for his performance in The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess. In 2014 he had the distinction of becoming the first African-American actor to play the title role in Broadway’s The Phantom of the Opera.

Lewis’ other Broadway roles include Jake in the original production of Side Show (1997), Eddie in The Wild Party (2000), the Painter in Amour (2002), Billy Flynn in the revival of Chicago (2004), Javert in Les Misérables (2006), King Triton in The Little Mermaid (2008), part of the star ensemble in Sondheim on Sondheim (2010), Agwe in the revival of Once On This Island (2018), Reginald in Chicken & Biscuits (2021), and more.
