Nygel D. Robinson and Brian Quijada's Mexodus, which played NYC's Minetta Lane Theatre last year via Audible Theater, has set an encore run for the Daryl Roth Theatre Off-Broadway. Performances will begin March 6 for a 10-week limited run through May 17. Tickets are now on sale at Telecharge.

The show is inspired by the real-life stories of African Americans who escaped bondage by going south into Mexico. Creators Robinson and Quijada also play all the characters in the show, and play all the music—with the help of a looping station that allows them to create the arrangements for every song in the show live in front of the audience every night.

Audible will release an audio recording of the show as an Audible Original June 18. The Off-Broadway bow follows hit runs in Baltimore; Washington, D.C.; and Berkeley, California.

David Mendizábal will again direct.  P3 Productions is collaborating with Audible producing.

"The energy and enthusiasm audiences brought to Mexodus last fall was CRAZY and we can’t wait to bring it back to New York," says Robinson and Quijada in a statement. "In every performance, we start with a chaotic assortment of instruments and, through looping, create something much bigger than ourselves. From the stage to the global Audible release, we’re honored to extend the reach of this story of solidarity. In these insane times, it’s important that we remember that we’re all in this together. Todos estamos juntos en esto."

“Collaborating with Audible Theater to uplift the Mexodus team has been deeply fulfilling at a time when questions of solidarity and belonging feel especially resonant for New Yorkers," adds Ben Holtzman, Sammy Lopez, and Fiona Howe Rudin of P3 Productions. "We’re excited to continue that dialogue and share the joy with audiences through this bold, original musical."

The production features scenic design by Riw Rakkulchon, costume design by David Mendizábal, lighting design by Mextly Couzin, sound design by Mikhail Fiksel, projection design by Johnny Moreno, and choreography by Tony Thomas. Hope Villaneuva serves as production stage manager, and casting is by Claire Yenson. Beacon Theatrical Services is providing theatrical supervision, and ShowTown Theatricals is general manager.
