Fictionhouse and Playful Productions' presentation of Good begins previews October 6 prior to an official opening October 12 at London's Harold Pinter Theatre.

Dominick Cooke directs the revival of C.P. Taylor’s play, which will continue through December 24. The cast features David Tennant as Halder, Olivier winner Elliot Levey (Cabaret) as Maurice, and Sharon Small as Helen. Small is best known for her long-running role as Detective Sergeant Barbara Havers in the BBC adaptation of The Inspector Lynley Mysteries.

In the drama, the world is facing a World War, and John Halder, a music-loving German professor, finds himself swept along in a movement that crescendos towards an unthinkable finale.

Critics Circle Award winner Tennant was last seen in the West End in 2017 in Don Juan in Soho. Other stage work includes Richard II and Hamlet for the RSC, Much Ado About Nothing in the West End, and Lobby Hero at the Donmar Warehouse.

During his 30-year career, the late Taylor wrote more than 70 plays for theatre and TV. His other plays include Schippel, The Plumber, And a Nightingale Sang, Bread and Butter, Walter, Black and White Minstrels, Allergy, Bandits, and Bring Me Sunshine.

Good was first produced by the RSC in 1981, playing the Donmar Warehouse, Aldwych Theatre, and subsequently Broadway. A film, featuring Viggo Mortensen, Jodie Whittaker, and Jason Isaacs, was released in 2008.

The production also has designs by Vicki Mortimer, lighting design by Zoe Spurr, sound design by Tom Gibbons, hair, wigs, and make-up by Campbell young, musical arrangements and composition by Will Stuart, movement direction by Imogen Knight, and casting by Amy Ball.
