Broadway News KPOP and U-KISS Star Kevin Woo Takes Over Playbill's Instagram November 26

The new Broadway musical KPOP opens at Circle in the Square Theatre November 27.

Attention KPOP (and K-Pop) fans! Kevin Woo, formerly of U-KISS and currently starring in Broadway's KPOP, takes over Playbill's Instagram November 26, taking fans inside the new musical on the eve of its official opening night. Make sure to follow @Playbill to see Woo's takeover.

Bringing the music and world of K-pop and Korean culture to Broadway, KPOP follows the American debut of fictional K-pop music label RBY as a documentary filmmaker captures performances and insights into the label's superstars: solo artist MwE, girl group RTMIS, and boy band F8. As MwE faces personal struggles and members of RTMIS and F8 deal with their own challenges, the filmmaker decides to dig deeper. Will they pull off their American debut?

Luna plays solo artist MwE, while members of girl group RTMIS (pronounced Artemis) is comprised of Min, Kate Mina Lin, BoHyung, Julia Abueva, and Amy Keum. Playing the members of boy band F8 (pronounced fate) are John Yi, Kevin Woo, Eddy Lee, Joshua Lee, Abraham Lim, James Kho, Jiho Kang, and Zachary Noah Piser. Luna, Min, BoHyung, and Woo all arrive on the Broadway stage with career experience as K-pop musicians.

Rounding out the cast are Aubie Merrylees, Jully Lee, Major Curda, and Jinwoo Jung, with Marina Kondo, Lina Rose Lee, Timothy H. Lee, and Patrick Park as swings.

Director Teddy Bergman helms the production, which features choreography by Jennifer Weber, music direction by Sujin Kim-Ramsey, scenic design by Gabriel Hainer Evansohn, costume design by Clint Ramos and Sophia Choi, lighting design by Jiyoun Chang, sound design by Peter Fitzgerald and Andrew Keister, projection design by Peter Nigrini, hair and wig design by Mia M. Neal, and makeup design by Suki Tsujimoto. Cherie B. Tay serves as production stage manager, and casting is by Tara Rubin Casting.
