Kevin Kline and Justin Guarini have joined the Drama League’s annual benefit gala A Musical Celebration of Broadway, honoring Tony Award-nominated Bright Star composer and Meteor Shower playwright Steve Martin November 6 at the Plaza Hotel.
Kline, who co-starred with Martin on screen in The Pink Panther and Grand Canyon, will host the 6:30 PM gala that will feature performances and appearances by Alex Brightman, Lea DeLaria, Carol Kane, Ed Helms, Jennifer Simard, Lauren Worsham, and Guarini. The evening will also include a special appearance by Kermit the Frog.
The creative team for the event includes writer Timothy Huang, choreographer Billy Griffin, and music director David Evans.
Martin earned Tony nominations for penning the book and score of Bright Star. His play Meteor Shower opens on Broadway November 29 at the Booth Theatre.
This year's auction will feature a number of VIP theatre experiences from shows, including Come From Away and Torch Song, vacations to Sicily and the Swiss Alps, designer products, and more. Bidding is currently open at BiddingForGood.com.
