Jon Bernthal and Ebon Moss-Bachrach are starring in Stephen Adly Guirgis' adaptation of the classic film, coming to Broadway this spring.

The upcoming Broadway bow of Stephen Adly GuirgisDog Day Afternoon has added some more star power to its cast. Performances are set to begin at the August Wilson Theatre March 10, ahead of a March 30 opening night. The limited engagement is currently set to continue through June 28. Two-time Olivier winner Rupert Goold is at the helm.

Joining previously announced stars Jon Bernthal (The Bear) as Sonny Amato and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Fantastic Four) as Sal DeSilva will be John Ortiz (Jesus Hopped the "A" Train) as Detective Ferrara, Jessica Hecht (Eureka Day) as Colleen, and Spencer Garrett (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood) as Sheldon. Additional casting is to be announced.

The true crime story, which previously inspired the 1975 film of the same name, centers on a 1972 Brooklyn bank robbery gone wrong that turns into a hostage situation. Frank Pierson wrote the original film, adapting P.F. Kluge's Life magazine article "The Boys in the Bank."

Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures' Mark Kaufman, Sue Wagner, John Johnson, and Patrick Catullo are producing. Warner Bros. released the original film.
