The Tony Award-winning musical Jagged Little Pill is expected to make its London debut in November. Producers Vivek J. Tiwary, Arvind Ethan David, and Eva Price will partner with Adam Kenwright and Kindred Partners for this production.
Inspired by the 1995 album of the same name by Alanis Morissette, Jagged Little Pill first premiered in 2018 at the American Repertory Theater before making its Broadway debut at the Broadhurst the following year. It made a speedy return following the COVID-19 shutdown but ultimately reached the end of its run on December 17, 2021. During its Broadway run, it won Tony Awards for Best Book of a Musical (for Diablo Cody) and Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Musical (for Lauren Patten).
Commenting on the show's West End debut, Morissette said, "I couldn’t be more thrilled to see this musical head to the West End! It’s been such an incredible experience to be a part of and I’m so excited to see it continue to grow and travel."
Kindred Partners' Founder Adam Kenwright added, "We are so excited to be bringing this extraordinary production featuring Alanis Morrisette’s phenomenal, iconic score to the UK. This is a deeply inspiring show and story, and we’re looking forward to being a part of the movement to bring it to stages around the world."
Jagged Little Pill is directed by Tony winner Diane Paulus (Waitress), with a script by Academy Award winner Diablo Cody (Juno) and orchestrations by Tom Kitt (Next To Normal). It features Morissette's hit singles "Ironic", "You Oughta Know", and "Head Over Feet".
The musical has made its international debut at Theatre Royal Sydney in Australia and is currently playing in Melbourne. This fall, the work launches its North American Tour, set to reach more than 30 cities.
